June 27 2017 – With the approach of July comes the highly anticipated race in Watkin’s Glen, New York where Canadian and American teams are combined in the GT3 Cup Challenge! This generates much more competition for all teams, but Mark Motors Racing is ready!
“I’m so excited to be going back to one of my all time favourite race tracks” said Marco Cirone, veteran driver. “It’s even more exciting to be racing with our very talented American GT3 friends. Competition will be even more fierce but the Mark Motors Racing team will be ready for a weekend which will surely be filled with excitement. We except nothing but podium finishes and we will work and race hard to achieve that!”
Not everyone on the team has experienced the excitement of Watkin’s Glen however. Youngster driver Roman De Angelis will be racing on this particular track for the first time! When asked about this weekend, De Angelis said; “I’m really looking forward to competing at Watkins, I have not been there yet and hope to get acclimated very quickly. I am also looking forward to a larger field of Gold cars and hoping to continue fighting for a podium finish. Anytime we have a larger field all the better!”
The crew at Bestline has been working extremely hard to ensure our cars are restored to their immaculate condition following the most recent race in Montreal just two weeks prior. The Mark Motors Racing team aims to continue using their stellar team to have a race weekend just as successful as the last! Driver Zach Robichon is especially anxious to use Watkin’s Glen to showcase the team and their abilities. “We are getting ready to head down for the now annual USA Vs. Canada battle at Watkins Glen” said Robichon. “Last year was a very exciting race to say the least and we showed strong pace with the Mark Motors Racing team. We’ve only grown stronger since this time last year so we’re looking to compete at the front and prove to not only the Canadians but the entire USA paddock what Mark Motors Racing can do!”
The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada will race twice during this weekend at Watkin’s Glen International in Watkin’s Glen, New York. Race 1 will start at 5:50 PM EST Friday, June 30th and Race 2 will start precisely at 10:20 AM EST on Sunday, July 1st. Both can be viewed live via streaming on imsa.com
